Doritos Raises Super Bowl Ad Stakes to $5 Million

By Kiran Aditham

With the goal being to place in all top three spots in USA Today’s Super Bowl Ad Meter, Frito-Lay has announced that it will not only air three consumer-created Doritos Super Bowl ads instead of two this February, but the grand prize loot for the brand’s Crash the Super Bowl contest (developed by Goodby The Marketing Arm) is being raised to $5 million.

Bros Joe and Dave Herbert, who created the $2,000-costing, $1 million-winning “Free Doritos” ad above for the last Super Bowl, were in Manhattan today to unveil Doritos Drive (temporarily replacing Madison Ave) and hand out free samples according to USA Today. Bedroom filmmakers can take part and upload their spots starting September 21st here.
