DigitasLBi Names Patrick McHugh SVP, GCD

DigitasLBi named industry veteran Patrick McHugh to the position of senior vice president, group creative director, effective immediately. In the role, McHugh will be based out of Detroit and oversee all creative for the agency’s Boston and Detroit regions while partnering closely with North American chief creative officer Ronald Ng and reporting to EVP/executive creative director Robert Rizzo.

McHugh arrives at Digitas LBi from Select Design, where he spent the last nine months as a creative director and copywriter. He landed at Select after leaving another Burlington, Vermont agency, KSV, after just three months as an executive creative director. While with Select Design, he worked for clients including Dunkin’ Donuts, Vermont Maple, Keurig, PepsiCo, Renewable NRG Systems, Labatt and Gallo.

McHugh joined Razorfish as a creative director and copywriter in October of 2012, staying with the agency for almost two years and working with such clients as SXSW, Motorola, Samsung and Car2Go. Prior to that, he spent around two years with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners as a senior creative and copywriter, where his clients included Chevrolet and the Detroit Institute of Arts. He served as a vice president, associate creative director for McCann Erickson beginning in March of 2009, working with clients including General Motors, Verizon FIOS, Nestle, ALDI and Pure Michigan. He began his career as an account executive with WRIF 101.1 FM, Detroit’s original “Home of Rock ‘n Roll” station in 1989, before moving on to copywriting positions at Davidson Marketing and FCB. McHugh is also the author and illustrator of children’s book series Mudwig’s Secret Vineyard.
