Digitas Cut Less Than 3% of Staff in Boston

Digitas Boston went through a round of layoffs last week.

An agency spokesperson said the agency cut under three percent of staff at the office.

“Less than 3 percent of our Boston region was affected to ensure that our business is properly aligned for growth, and to deliver the connected skill sets needed for our clients,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement.

The office employs a little over 670 employees, so it would be appear that just under 20 employees were impacted by the layoffs.

The news comes amidst a rash of layoffs around the industry in recent weeks. Yesterday, we learned that Minneapolis agency Periscope cut three percent of staff and that Ogilvy shuttered its creative department in Atlanta. Earlier this month, Barton F. Graf went through a round of layoffs as part of a restructuring. In February, Leo Burnett Chicago went through a round of layoffs following changes to the Phillip Morris account and multiple Detroit agencies went through rounds of layoffs.
