David&Goliath Gets Lost for California Lottery

David&Goliath launched a new spot for the California Lottery promoting its new Deluxe 7’s Playbook full of six pages of Scratchers games, entitled “Get Lost.”

The new 60-second spot follows a California man as he purchases a Deluxe 7’s Playbook and soon become so engrossed in its six pages of Scratchers games that he loses all sense of place. Set to the song “Hey My Man” by The Babes, the man wanders aimlessly with his head in the book, walking through the middle of a basketball game and not even noticing as he is dunked over. He then walks into a skate park, falling onto a board without even realizing it. At the end of the spot, he finally looks up to find himself somewhere quite unexpected. It works fairly well as an exaggerated imaging of how engrossing the Deluxe 7 Playbook is, but the spot definitely feels like it could have communicated its message in about half the time. “Get Lost” is supported by radio, digital, mobile and OOH elements and the campaign will run in key markets throughout California, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Fresno.
