Daily Depression, Courtesy ASPCA

Animals are cool, and sometimes nice. So it’s bad when people beat them up. What’s worse? When an organization dedicated to helping said creatures uses the lamentations of an anthropomorphous dog to get their point across. It will make your face sad.

The ad we’re referring to is from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, y’all). It goes like this: “My name is Shelby, and I am afraid. My owner hurts me…I’ve been locked up and left all alone and if I don’t behave myself I’ll suffer even more. All I ever wanted was to run and play and to make someone smile. Whatever I did to deserve this, it must have been and, because every day I’m punished. I thought I was a good dog. Now I just hope that this pain will go away, soon, and that someday someone will love me and help me.”

Thanks, ASPCA, why don’t you just hand me a gun now so I can kill myself. Howard Draft would be proud.
