Cricket Takes on T-Mobile in the Desert

By Bob Marshall

Speaking of new brand AORs, a lot of you were shocked when Cricket took its business from incumbent Element79 to Dallas-based retail marketers, TPN. How would this experiment work, what with TPN not yet the sort of company, in many opinion, that had proved its merit in the field of actual TV advertising?

Well, the above spot is the maiden voyage of sorts for TPN, directly targeting T-Mobile on pay-as-you-go mobile rates and coverage. Is this the first time we’ve seen a CG buzzard in advertising? Probably, but that trade-in deal for an Android phone sounds pretty nice. Was Cricket better off at Element79, or do you like the change? We can guess how you, dear commenters, will call this one.
