Creative Chief Leaving Grey Healthcare Group

By Patrick Coffee

Last August, Grey Healthcare Group’s U.S. operations in New York announced the hiring of Ben Ingersoll as its new chief creative officer.

Today the office sent out an internal memo indicating that he would be leaving that position to “pursue his own creative interests” outside the larger WPP organization.

Ingersoll has extensive experience in healthcare marketing. Before he joined Grey, he was CD at Interlink Healthcare Communications and Cline Davis & Mann New York, where he managed “several global healthcare brands across multiple therapeutic areas.” Earlier in his career, he worked as a copywriter at Botto, Roessner, Horne Messinger, the now-defunct health care division of Omnicom PR giant Ketchum.

When ghg announced the hire last year, word held that Ingersoll would be running the shop along with chief engagement officer Erin Burne (formerly with Burson-Marsteller) and managing partner/brand strategy director John Dietz (himself a CDM veteran) while also collaborating with the London and Sydney offices.

The agency did not provide additional information on Ingersoll’s plans moving forward, but they did say that they expect to name his replacement soon.
