CP+B Boulder Promotes Matt Talbot to VP, ECD

By Erik Oster

CP+B Boulder announced the promotion of Matt Talbot to the role of vice president/executive creative director.

Talbot first joined CP+B in August of 2009 as a copywriter working on the Domino’s account and soon made the jump to the creative director role. He has led creative on all U.S. Domino’s work, while also working with brands including Hotels.com, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Vail Resorts. Prior to joining CP+B, Talbot spent a little over a year as a copywriter with TBWA\Chiat\Day, following a period as a freelance copywriter with The Hub Strategy and Pelagic.

“I see Matt as a benchmark for next generation creative leadership and a huge part of the way forward at CP+B,” said CP+B Boulder vice president and chief creative officer Ralph Watson. “As I also see it, ‘smarts’ is the new creative. Smarts is the ability to disrupt industries, outsmarting our business to help clients outsmart theirs…No one gets that better than Matt.”

The promotion follows a series of recent changes at CP+B, following the appointment of global CEO Lori Senecal in March. Most recently, the agency “phased out” CEO and executive creative director Andrew Keller and ECD Evan Fry while fellow ECD Dan Donovan departed the agency for McCann New York. Other recent departures include president Steve Erich, executive vice president, tech director Dan Fox and vice president, director of product David Corns

CP+B Boulder also brought back managing director Devin Reiter late last month to co-lead the office along with fellow MD Danielle Whalen.
