Called It: Rebecca Stambanis Officially Takes Global Planning Director Post at W+K

By Kiran Aditham

Last week we reported that Rebecca Stambanis left Goodby for W+K and while the latter agency wouldn’t comment then, they’re proudly yapping about it now.

Stambanis has officially joined W+K as global planning director on Nike, an ideal fit considering the Aussie native is an athlete who’s participated in Ironman competitions. In a statement, she says, “Sport always has been a huge part of my life, so working on Nike is the perfect fit for me. The work on Nike is often held up as the standard in the industry worldwide, and our challenge is to continue to push that standard and stay relevant. I am looking forward to connecting my passion to strong creative thinking.”

Prior to joining Wieden, Stambanis developed the first digital agency for Clemenger BBDO and spent the past three years at Goodby as deputy head of brand strategy, managing planning efforts for Comcast, Haagen-Dazs and Nintendo.
