Betc Sets Up Shop in Paris, Another Modernista Alum Finds New Gig

By Kiran Aditham

Euro RSCG Betc–ok, guess it’s just called Betc now–is expanding its “micro-network” by opening up a London office come May 26. The agency behind the Evian “Roller Babies” spot, which we guess annoyed us less than the E*Trade ads, will be led by CEO Matthew Charlton, former president of Modernista, and ECD Neil Dawson, who previously served as worldwide CD for Philips at DDB.

Charlton also spent time as a business director at BBH and a managing director at TBWA London while Dawson has held senior creative roles at TBWA, Ogilvy and BBH during his career. The lads are pictured above with Rémi Babinet (the ‘B’ of BETC and recently appointed Spikes Asia jury prez), who founded his agency in Paris 17 years ago with Mercedes Erra (The “E” of BETC) and Eric Tong Cuong (yep, you guessed it, the “TC”).  *Pictured above: Dr. Drew, Jesse James and maybe Harry Shearer.
