Adrienne A. Hall died Feb. 2 in a nursing home in Los Angeles from complications of Lou Gehrig’s disease at the age of 81. This is the woman who got the Western States Advertising Agency Assn. to changed the name of its “Man of the Year Award” to “Advertising Award of the Year.” She won it six years after founding her agency in 1976, Hall & Levine Advertising, with partner Joan Levin. The UCLA graduate was a notorious prominent of women in the industry chairing and forming numerous associations to empower young ladies in the biz.

Can you even imagine? And look at the photograph! If that isn’t 70s advertising power at its best, we’re not sure what is.
The lady deserves a moment of silence.
