adam&eveDDB to Open New York Office Following Samsung Win

By Erik Oster

Campaign reports that London-based adam&eveDDB has won a significant portion of Samsung’s North American creative account following a review which included W+K Portland, Cheil Worldwide and, in its initial stages, Publicis New York. As a result of the new business, adam&eveDDB is opening an office in New York.

W+K Portland recently launched a new spot for Samsung entitled “A Perfect Day” and ran an Olympic spot featuring Christoph Waltz promoting the ill-fated launch of the Galaxy Note 7. Cheil’s work for Samsung includes last year’s “Be The Master of Payments” spot for Samsung Pay.

Samsung is not adam&eveDDB’s only client on this side of the Atlantic, as the agency works on the U.S. digital account for Mars pet food brands and its campaigns for clients including Google and Diageo have also run in North America.

According to Campaign, adam&eveDDB is currently seeking a location for the office and recruiting for its launch, with a goal of about 30 employees to start.

Both Samsung and adam&eveDDB declined to comment on the news.
