As expected, AMC’s Mad Men triumphed again at this year’s Emmy Awards, clinching the top prize of Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row.
While the Sterling Cooper clan earned 16 nominations in total, the show was shut out of all the acting categories including best actor, drama, where it was thwarted again by fellow AMC thesp Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad. Nevertheless, Mad Men nabbed best writing, drama honors for the “Meditations in an Emergency” episode penned by creator Matthew Weiner and Kater Gordon.
