NBC’s at it again, cross-promoting another major brand, and again (wisely) using a highly-viewed program as the vehicle. You may have seen the trailer above during the Super Bowl. It’s for Will Farrel’s new flick, “The Land of the Lost” — but last night NBC aired the spot, which includes Matt Lauer and a scene from ‘Today’ during 30 Rock.
Click over to SubwayFreshBuzz.com and you’ll find the spot there, too. Here’s our question — what the hell does Subway have to do with this? No more than Burger Kind, McDonald’s or any of the other x-million movie cross-promotions we’ve seen over the years. But this one caught our attention because it includes so many brands.
1. NBC
— 30 Rock
— Today
2. The Land of the Lost
3. Subway
4. Will Farrel — he’s his own brand now, with Funny or Die, not to mention he got his start on NBC via SNL.
We’re not saying good or bad here, just noticing is all. Can we expect more melding from NBC in the future? What else, besides this and Pepsuber do they have brewing?
