H&R Block has appointed Pittsburgh and Atlanta-based independent agency Chemistry Communications as its digital agency of record, extending an existing relationship.

Chemistry will be tasked with handling all consumer-facing digital marketing for H&R Block and its corporate website, working with H&R Block’s marketing department to develop and execute such marketing strategies.

“We have been working with Chemistry for several years, and they have continually brought outstanding digital ideas and creative approaches to the brand,” H&R Block vice president of interactive marketing and online experience Amy Hu said in a statement. “We are excited to leverage their expertise and insights to an even greater degree moving forward.”

“We have enjoyed our partnership with H&R Block over the last several years because the client truly embraces and values a collaborative partnership with their agencies,” added Chemistry CEO Ned Show. “We are very proud of the work we have created together, and we’re energized by the opportunity to do even bigger and better things in the future.”

The appointment follows H&R Block selecting VML as its social media agency of record back in June. Chemistry will work with VML and Fallon, H&R Block’s creative agency of record.

According to Kantar Media, the client spent $148.8 million on measured media in 2015 and $102 in the first quarter of this year.
