Indianapolis NBC-affiliate WTHR is launching a local Spanish language news webcast today.

Anchored by Marco Dominguez and Rossina Lazaneo (pictured), the webcast will be taped in the WTHR studios and provide the typical mix of news, weather, and sports.  It will “air” every weekday on WTHR.com.

“The Hispanic population continues to grow in Indianapolis, so we’re extremely pleased to be able to provide this valuable newscast on the web,” said WTHR president and general manager John Cardenas.

Dominguez served as an associate professor of TV production at Butler University for ten years and as station manager for Univision in Indianapolis.  Lazaneo worked as a producer at Univision in Indianapolis.

Dominguez was born in Venezuela and Lazaneo is a native of Uruguay.

“I am proud that WTHR is taking this opportunity to not only serve the Hispanic community but the entire population of Central Indiana,” Lazaneo said in a statement.  “This webcast will provide a great service to our entire community, and I am excited to be a part of it.”
