WSU to Dedicate Building to Kathi Goertzen Saturday

Kathi Goertzen, the former Seattle news anchor who died last year after a battle with brain cancer, will have a building at her alma mater named after her.

Washington State University announced the move in March. On Saturday, the school will rename its Murrow Communication Addition on the Pullman campus building the Goertzen Communication Addition for the former KOMO anchor.

“The Communication Addition has many of the same qualities Kathi embodied,” said WSU President Elson S. Floyd in making his recommendation for the name change to the WSU Board of Regents. “It is fresh, open, and light with the capacity to foster lively conversations and learning.”
