WLS sports anchor Mark Giangreco has issued a statement about his reference to suicide in an over-the-shoulder graphic in last night’s story about the Chicago Bears.
Giancreco said, “My remarks were inappropriate, and I deeply regret and apologize for this incident. I will be issuing an on-air apology in this evening’s newscast.”
In a story that called for change with the hometown NFL team, the sports anchor for the ABC owned Chicago station used an OTS graphic with a picture of Jay Cutler above the line that read “Cut him or cut your wrists.”
