Andy Choi has been hired by Milwaukee ABC affiliate WISN as weekend morning anchor.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports Choi will replace Thema Ponton who is leaving the station.
Choi spent the last year as national correspondent for the E.W. Scripps company. He’s also worked at WXYZ in Detroit, Mich., WISC in Madison, Wisc. and KOMU in Columbia, Mo.

Ponton told viewers on her Facebook page she is leaving the station next week after three years.
“To all of my co-workers, I appreciate all of your hard work and thank you for welcoming me into the news family at WISN 12,” said Ponton. “As soon as I can, I will let everyone know where I am heading next!”
