David Bernard — chief meteorologist at WFOR, the CBS owned-and-operated station in Miami — is working overtime this weekend.
As the hurricane correspondent for CBS News, Bernard is the go-to reporter in case of a major storm. Beginning six days ago, Bernard has been seen reporting on Hurricane Irene for “The Early Show” and “CBS Evening News” — and for the seasoned meteorologist, who has covered Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, Wilma and Rita, there is no end in sight.
“I’ll be helping the network all weekend with their shows,” Bernard tells TVSpy in an email. He confirms he will contribute to “The Early Show,” as well as “CBS Evening News” and “Face the Nation,” as well as for breaking news and a planned CBS special, anchored by Scott Pelley, at 11 a.m.ET Sunday.
