WCAU Ending Lifestyle Show in Favor of More News

A lifestyle and entertainment show on WCAU, the NBC O&O in Philadelphia, will come to an end on Friday after 10 years on the air, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

WCAU will replace the show, “10!,” with an additional half-hour of news. “10!” currently airs from 11:30 to noon on weekdays, sandwiched in between two newscasts. Beginning on Monday, the 11 a.m. news will run for an hour.

The Daily News reports WCAU general manager Eric Lerner “cited the station’s commitment to strengthening its newscasts for the switch.” Hosts Bill Henley and Jillian Mele will remain with the station, and a handful of production staffers will be encouraged to apply for internal positions at the station.
