Veteran Philadelphia Sportscaster Howard Eskin Joining WTXF

Sports anchor Howard Eskin is jumping from NBC O&O WCAU to Fox O&O WTXF in Philadelpia.

Eskin is the longtime host of WCAU’s “Sports Final,” as well as a local radio personality in Philadelphia. The move is a return to WTXF for the sportscaster, who once served as anchor of the station’s 10 p.m. newscast.

“I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my career, having had the opportunity to cover some of the most memorable games and athletes in Philadelphia,” Eskin said. “But, there is nothing like getting a chance to return to FOX 29, where my heart has always been. It’s great to be back.”

Beginning on September 4, Eskin will anchor sports for WTXF’s evening newscasts. John Anderson, who is the station’s current sports anchor, will take on an expanded role at WTXF, moving to reporting and anchoring news.
