Union Staff at Quincy Stations Still Looking for Contract

By Kevin Eck

Newsroom staff represented by SAG-AFTRA at Quincy’s NBC affiliate WEEK and Sinclair’s ABC affiliate WHOI, which is operated by Quincy, are still looking for a contract, reports the Peoria Journal Star.

The Journal Star says both sides differ on wages, benefits, paid time off and healthcare costs.

“Our previous contract expired in March. We are working without one,” said Garry Moore, WEEK employee and president of the Peoria Local of SAG-AFTRA.

SAG AFTRA posted pictures of a demonstration outside the Peoria stations last week with the caption on its Facebook page “WEEK/WHOI staff and supporters prepare for another round of union negotiations with Quincy Media Inc.”

Quincy president and CEO Ralph Oakley declined to comment.
