TV Viewing at All-Time High

In the increasingly competitive battle for viewers’ attention, it would be unwise to write off the old, steely champion TV. According to a new Nielsen report, the boob tube scored a record high average viewing amount during the 2008-2009 season. The average American, according to Nielsen, spent four hours and 49 minutes a day in front of the TV–that’s up four minutes from last year and up a whopping 20% from 10 years ago.
