Rigby had worked at the station for more than three decades, starting in 1981 as a reporter and weekend sports anchor. He quickly worked his way up the ranks, from evening anchor to sports director, which was his last title at the station until he left in November 2011.

Now, Rigby is back. Starting Wednesday, fans can catch him with co-anchor Lindsay Ward and meteorologist Jim Burton, on “6 News at Sunrise” and “6 News at Noon.”

“We’re very excited about getting Tim to come back,” WJAC news director Jim Platzer told The Tribune-Democrat. “We think he is going to be a great fit in the morning, especially with his experience and the fact that people know him. It’s a great addition for us. We couldn’t be happier.”

Rigby, for his part, can’t wait to get back to work.

“I am looking forward to Wednesday and getting back on the air and doing what I love to do,” Rigby told the paper. “I appreciate the opportunity to resume my broadcasting career.”
