By Andrew Gauthier

Veteran Boston sports anchor Mike Lynch can surely appreciate the significance of a winning streak.  The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) has named Lynch the Massachusetts Sportscaster of the Year, extending his winning streak to five straight years.

Lynch, who has been the principal sports anchor for Boston’s WCVB since 1985, has been named Massachusetts Sportscaster of the Year 14 times overall.

Lynch currently provides sports reports for the ABC-affiliate’s 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts, Sunday through Thursday.  He joined the station in 1983 as a weekend sports anchor.
