See a Pittsburgh Anchor’s Version of The NHL Playoff Beard

By Kevin Eck

There’s an NHL tradition that players don’t shave their beards during the playoffs until their team is knocked out or they win the Stanley Cup. KDKA anchor Susan Koeppen is doing the same thing, sort of.

Koeppen wore a black and white dress for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which the Penguins won and again for Game 7 and the Penguins won again. Then she wore it for the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals and the Penguins won.

Koeppen told TVSpy she borrowed the dress and keeps it hidden when she’s not wearing it. She’s wearing it again tonight.

“Viewers are now sending me messages that I NEED TO WEAR THE BLACK AND WHITE DRESS!!!” Koeppen told TVSpy. “It’s fun to see my Twitter feed and Facebook page filled with messages telling me to make sure I remember to wear the dress.”
