Ron Magers Last Night Pulls Big Ratings for WLS

The speeches, tributes and tears over the last two nights of Ron Magers 51 year career brought in big ratings for ABC-owned station WLS.

WLS says Magers’ last two nights were the highest rated in the market. His last night pulled in a 10 ratings with an 18 share in households.

There were plenty of tributes for the Chicago anchor icon as the mounted police lined up in front of the State street studios in a salute at 5 p.m. and at 10 p.m., he got a standing ovation from his colleagues.

A WLS spokesperson told TVSpy Magers was on the front page of the Chicago Sun-Times and was honored by both of the city’s MLB teams, the Cubs and White Sox.
