Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE has promoted Jim Parsons to news director.
Parson was the assistant news director at the Hearst-owned station. He takes over for Justin Antoniotti, who was promoted to GM of Hearst’s WPTZ-WNNE.
“Jim’s strong news instincts, passion for journalism, and knowledge of Pittsburgh make him uniquely prepared to take on this important position,” said president and GM Charles Wolfertz III. “I have no doubt Jim will build on WTAE Channel 4’s many accomplishments and lead the way in delivering quality news coverage to our viewers.”

Parsons was an investigative reporter at the station for 15 years before working as the assistant news director.
