Nexstar Names William Sally to Newly Created Role Overseeing Eastern Stations

Nexstar Broadcasting has announced it has named William Sally senior vice president and regional manager, east region, a new position the company created because of its “expanded scale.”

Sally will oversee Nexstar’s markets in Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Indiana, Alabama and Maryland. He will also have direct responsibility for the general managers in those markets.

“Reflecting Nexstar’s expanded scale, we added the Regional Manager position to build on our industry-wide reputation of delivering exceptional community service. said co-chief operating officer Tim Busch. Sally will report to Busch.

Sally was most recently VP and GM of Albany, NY, FOX affiliate WXXA. Before coming to WXXA, Sally was vice president and general manager of WFFF-WVNY the FOX and ABC affiliates for Burlington, VT, as well as KEYT in Santa Barbara, CA. Early in his career he worked in news and local sales at WKTV in Utica, NY.

“The hallmark of my more than 30 years of professional experience in broadcasting is strong community interaction and service and in this new position I am committed to delivering the same,” said Sally in a statement. “In this role, I will leverage the management experience and deep community relationships built over my career, to generate results and further strengthen Nexstar’s position as a leading provider of superior service to our clients, advertisers, and the local communities in the East Region.”
