Malcolm Maddox, a weekend anchor at WKEF, will join Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ next week as a weekend morning anchor.
Maddox is a former U.S. marine who began his broadcast career more than ten years ago, working first as a photojournalist at WGBA in Green Bay, KUSI in San Diego and WXPI in Pittsburgh. Before joining WKEF, he was also a reporter at WIAT in Birmingham.
“Timing is everything and now is the perfect time to be in Detroit,” Maddox said. “The region has tremendous potential that is on the verge of being realized. As a journalist, there’s no place I’d rather be.”

Maddox will anchor the weekend morning show alongside Anu Prakash beginning August 13.
