Lorra Lynch Jones Moves From Anchor to News Director at WMAZ

By Chris Ariens

Lorra Lynch Jones has been absent from anchoring the 5 o’clock news lately, and viewers started to notice. So, in a video posted on the Tegna station’s website, she explained why.

“I’m taking another step in my career and I’ve been promoted to news director,” said Lynch Jones. “I’m helping everybody in the newsroom in a bigger, larger role; more active in the newsroom, engaging with our reporters and our digital folks and our anchors.” Lynch Jones is married to Ben Jones the weeknight anchor/meteorologist at WMAZ.

“I’ll still be around, and perhaps on the news from time to time. Just not every day,” said Lynch Jones, who has been with WMAZ since April, 2005.
