Longtime KOMO Weathercaster Passes Away

By Andrew Gauthier

Longtime KOMO weathercaster Ray Ramsey died on Sunday. He was 87.

“He was zany, irrepressible, full of wit and whimsy, full of compassion,” reads a post by KOMO staff honoring Ramsey, who was with the ABC-affiliate for 20 years. “Ray was exactly the same in person as he was on-air: He was the most energetic man, with the funniest patter, that we believe we’ve ever met.”

Ramsey joined KOMO in 1965 and became a Seattle icon with his unique delivery and dry sense of humor. Above is a video of his final day with KOMO as well as a tribute to his career.
