By Kevin Eck

Ned Reynolds has announced his retirement from KYTV.

“This is not a complete retirement announcement, but pretty darn close to it,” Reynolds said in a statement. “Over the years, I have had the opportunity to make some close friendships and wonderful associations. These memories will be locked deep in my soul forever.”

The Springfield, Mo. NBC affiliate said Reynolds’ last day will be December 1. He will continue to do play-by-play for Springfield Cardinals games.

Chad Plein will take over Reynold’s sportscast at 6:00 p.m.
