KXAS Looks to Build New Studio in Fort Worth

By Merrill Knox

NBC O&O KXAS is moving ahead with plans to build a new $16 million studio facility on eight acres in Fort Worth — if it receives tax incentives from the city.

The proposed $2.5 million incentive package, which includes an 85 percent abatement on property taxes over 25 years, will be put to a vote in front of the city council on Tuesday. The proposal would also require KXAS to give 25 percent of the construction contracts to Fort Worth companies.

KXAS is currently based in east Forth Worth, where they would remain while the new facility is built.
