KSL Still Won’t Air Hannibal

The NBC show Hannibal is still not airing on Salt Lake City NBC affiliate KSL.

The station announced the show’s third season will appear on Nexstar’s CW affiliate KUCW on Saturdays over the summer between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m.

The show was pulled from KSL in 2013 after the Mormon-owned station said the show was “too graphic” after viewers complained.

“We’re pleased to offer this tense and thrilling drama on Utah’s CW30” says Richard Doutre` Jones, GM of ABC affiliate KTVX and CW affiliate KUCW. “Hannibal is a riveting program, and we believe it is Good4Utah to allow all Utah viewers the opportunity to make their own choice on whether they want to watch it when we air it on Saturday nights this summer.”

In 2013, Doutre Jones told TVSpy, ““I believe we have a real benefit airing the NBC programming not cleared by KSL on Utah’s CW30…it raises the profile and viewer awareness for the station and they also provide additional revenue opportunities.”

KSL is owned by Bonneville International which is owned by Deseret Management Corporation which is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
