Houston FOX owned station KRIV is apologizing today for airing a tweet someone sent out using offensive language to describe Cowboy’s Quarterback Tony Romo.
The tweet scrolled across the screen during the station’s 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. news in the ticker. It read, “Tony Romo, still the gayest player on the cowgirls.”
Michael Sam, the NFL’s first openly gay player, had just signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
In yesterday’s 5&9pm news, we inadvertently aired a person’s tweet re: Tony Romo w/offensive language. We sincerely apologize for the error
