Kris Allred Temporarily Off the Air at WSAV After Saying F-Word During Newscast

WSAV chief meteorologist Kris Allred is temporarily off the air at the Savannah NBC-affiliate after she said the f-word off-camera during an evening newscast Monday night.

“Due to Monday night’s incident, I temporarily won’t be on the air until a permanent decision is made,” Allred wrote on Facebook last night. “I just want to say thank you for all of the support. I hop to give you your forecast very soon!”

WSAV’s broadcast went dark for a short time during the 5 p.m. newscast, but Allred’s and co-anchor Andrew Davis were still audible.

“Major, major help,” Allred can be heard saying. “The text alerts to send out the weather warnings are completely wrong on all the times. Kevin is aware of it, we thought it was a glitch, for one. But the entire system is f*cked.”

“I was rushing off camera dealing with a technical issue, and I didn’t know my microphone was on. But that is still simply no excuse,” Allred wrote on WSAV’s Facebook page. “I am very sorry for having used such offensive language in any situation, and it certainly will not happen again.”
