Sandra Kotzambasis has been promoted to news director of Phoenix NBC affiliate KPNX.
Kotzambasis was the senior executive producer.
“Sandra has earned this opportunity by demonstrating passion, flexibility, and the commitment to excellence that’s critical to the continued transformation of 12 News to serve our now and future audiences,” former ND Mark Casey, who was promoted to VP & station manager, wrote in an email sent to staffers. “For the past three years, she’s been my partner as we’ve worked to both build our newscast ratings and develop the digital and social products that our customers expect.
Kotzambasis has worked at KPNX since August 2011. She returned to local news after working in PR at Go Daddy. Before that she worked at KSAZ in Phoenix for 13 years. She started her career in Tucson at KVOA before moving to KGUN.
