Austin American-Statesman media writer Gary Dinges reports Sousa Williams is leaving Austin CBS affiliate KEYE after 19 years.

“Over the years she’s held a variety of roles, including 10 p.m. producer, executive producer, news operations manager and, most recently, new media manager overseeing the station’s website and social media accounts, among other things,” writes Dinges.

“There are so many unsung, hardworking journalists behind the scenes in a TV newsroom,” KEYE anchor Judy Maggio (pictured left) wrote on her facebook page. “I’ve worked side by side with Sousa Williams at 2 TV stations and she’s one of the best. We will miss you, Sousa. Happy Trails and enjoy your new adventure.”

Williams is heading to Connecticut to be with her girlfriend. Today is her last day.
