KHOU weekend meteorologist Mario Gomez has taken the TEGNA buyout.
The news about Gomez comes after reports political reporter Doug Miller took the buyout.
“They leave with 240 years combined experience,” anchor Shern-Min Chow wrote on Facebook about the seven buyout takers at the Houston CBS affiliate. “You are looking at News History.”

Chow, who broke the news according to Houston media blogger Mike McGuff, later clarified her post by saying ” 7 people listed are retiring. 9 are in the group photo. I also identified the 2 pictured who are not retiring by putting their names in parenthesis and prefacing with “NOT” so it reads -(NOT retiring! Greg Hurst) Hope that helps”
