Honolulu ABC affiliate KITV has named Paula Akana and Robert Kekaula as the new evening anchor team.
Kekaula moves from sports into news. He’s worked at the station since 1997. Akana started there as an intern in 1983 and anchors the 5.
“This is the perfect pairing,” said news director Mike Darrah. “Nobody lives, loves and respects Hawaiian values more than Paula and Robert. We’re all lucky to have them looking out for the islands.”

The two will join Pete Caggiano, Brandi Higa at 6 and 10 p.m. starting Monday, February 13.
