Hank Tester Leaving Miami’s WTVJ After 22 Years

By Mark Joyella

Hank Tester‘s bio at NBC-owned WTVJ in Miami begins, “it has been a hell of a run and it is not over yet,” but the veteran South Florida reporter says his tenure at WTVJ is ending after 22 years. “Always classy,” said former WTVJ reporter and NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders on Facebook. “An era in top-notch Miami news coverage ends indeed.”

Tester joined WTVJ in 1992 just weeks before Hurricane Andrew. He’s covered countless major stories for the station since, and been honored with numerous Emmys and a NATAS Silver Circle Award. Former WTVJ anchor Bob Mayer described Tester as “a kind and honest man, a true journalist, (and) a great storyteller.”

Tester takes decades of experience–and his signature roll cue, “let’s take a look,”–as he leaves TVJ.
