Lindsey Pena has been hired by San Diego ABC affiliate KGTV as an anchor and reporter.

Pena worked at KGPE in Fresno, California where she was an evening news co-anchor. KGTV news director Tiffani Lupenski told TVSpy, “Lindsey started with us on April 3rd as an anchor and reporter.”

“While I’m so excited to start another chapter in my life, it’s with a heavy heart that I leave behind the people I’ve grown to look forward to seeing everyday,” Pena wrote on her Facebook page. “The people who helped shape the person and journalist I am today. Words really can’t express how much I’ll miss so many of you. So I’ll simply say goodbye for now and thank you. Thank you for helping to make my dream come true.”

Pena started her career with KSEE in Fresno before moving over to sister-station KGPE.

“For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a journalist. I was lucky enough to realize that dream in my hometown of Fresno at KSEE 24, a station I grew up watching,” said Pena. “Three years ago I made the move to CBS 47 and once again was incredibly fortunate to work alongside more of the kindest, most talented people in the business.”
