Former WSET sports anchor John Organ died Saturday. He was 53.
“I will miss him terribly,” said sports director Dennis Carter. “I’ve lost a true friend…He always had a great joke to tell you.”

Organ, who was battling stage four cancer, worked at the Lynchburg, Va. ABC affiliate for 22 years. He worked at Startek after leaving WSET.

According to the station Organ was known for his love of hockey and for his smile.
