Derek Burleson, morning anchor for ABC affiliate KHBS-KHOG, said goodbye to viewers on-air at the end of yesterday’s newscast.

“Thanks to the crew here for giving me this farewell cake that I’m trying not to drop here,” said the morning anchor for the Fort Smith-Fayetteville Hearst duopoly. “It’s been a wonderful run and I won’t forget any of you.”

Burleson had worked at KHBS-KHOG for more than eleven years. He started at the station doing sports and began anchoring the “Sunrise” show in 2008.
