KDAF reporter Candice Crawford received a special gift for her 24th birthday: an engagement ring from her boyfriend Tony Romo. The Dallas Cowboys star proposed to Crawford at a birthday celebration with her family.
On Thursday evening, CW-affiliate KDAF posted a photo of Crawford’s engagement ring-adorned finger with the words “Candice Crawford and Tony Romo are ENGAGED!”
Crawford, a former beauty queen who started her broadcasting career at the University of Missouri’s KOMU, began dating Romo in the summer of 2009. She covers entertainment as well as sports for KDAF.
No word yet from KDAF about how or if the engagement will affect Crawford’s future reporting assignments. She has covered Cowboys football in the past, although her sports reporting is mostly for KDAF’s high school football show “CW33 Gameday.” The station is currently using the engagement news to promote an upcoming Cowboys Christmas special in which Crawford interviews her husband-to-be.
