Dallas NBC Station Gets News Director From Seattle

Mark Ginther has been named vp of news for Dallas NBC-owned station KXAS.

Ginther comes from KING in Seattle where he’s been the executive news director since 2008. Before that he was assistant news director at WFAA in Dallas. He’s also been news director at NWCN Cable in Seattle and WHO in Des Moines, Iowa.

“Mark is a seasoned news professional who knows how to relate important news and information in a way that is meaningful to local audiences,” said KXAS gm Tom Ehlmann. “He’s a leader with previous North Texas news gathering experience, and we’re looking forward to him continuing NBC 5’s success in connecting with viewers through best-in-class journalism. We are very excited that Mark is joining the NBC 5 news team.”

He starts September 14 and replaces Susan Tully who was named gm of NBC-owned WVIT in Connecticut.
