Cincinnati’s Hearst-owned NBC affiliate WLWT has hired Jeff Benscoter as its news director.
Benscoter stays within the Hearst family with the move. He is assistant news director at KMBC in Kansas City. He replaces Mike Neelly, who left to be gm of Hearst’s Jackson, Miss. station WAPT.
He’s worked as senior ep at WTHR in Indianapolis, Ind., news director at KYTV in Springfield, Mo., and ep at WKRC in Cincinnati. He’s also worked at WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky.
