Which DCNewser has the real power, Howard Kurtz or Jake Tapper?

There’s a power play of sorts brewing in Washington, DC, over a loss of power after several summer storms.

Washington City Paper reports WaPo/CNN’s Howard Kurtz went on a tweet tirade against power company Pepco after enduring five days without power last month. Storms this week left the Kurtz home powerless, again.

But Kurtz was not alone. Power was knocked out at the home of ABC’s Jake Tapper, and about 60,000 others in the region. But it appears Tapper’s got more pull. Last night, he tweeted:

Power company did a great job restoring our power. Thank you PEPCO! #TheAntiKurtz

This morning, Kurtz responded/retweeted:

Sure, Tapper’s probably on the A-list…RT @jaketapper: Power company did a great job restoring our power. Thank you PEPCO! #TheAntiKurtz

At last check, still no power at the Kurtz home. But never fear “Reliable Sources” will air, as always, Sunday morning on CNN.

> Update: The power is back on in the Kurtz home.
